    That's the impression you give in your first posting and by your thread title.

    You have yet to tell us which station it was and who told you your tickets weren't valid.

    East Coast don't run any stations in Scotland apart from Dunbar station (Which is staffed until the last train has departed). First Scotrail run the rest, apart from Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley which are run by Network Rail.

    Odds are that it was a member of barrier staff employed by Scotrail that prevented you from passing through the barrier with out of date tickets.

    As for using your phone to call Network Rail, why did you not use the Customer help points on the station?. Every station on the route is fitted with at least one.
