Best place to save?

I have, I hope found a buyer for my house. I am currently renting a retirement flat. I should have £120000 once the house is sold. My land lord does not want to sell, so I want to put the cash somewhere safe, so that I can use if for continued renting or for a flat purchase in the future. Never had this sort of money before. Where is the best place to put this money safely away and to get the best interest?
