gas and electric

No one is universally 'best' or 'cheapest', it depends on kWh consumption and region.
So what is coming out best on the comp sites for you?
The basic decision you need to make is whether to go for a fixed or variable tariff.
The Big Six always come lower down in the service ratings, only you can decide if you want to pay extra for better service from a smaller supplier. The gas and electricity is just the same regardless. No free lunch, and no free laptop

As an MSEer, then yes! (unless you already have a good reason to think otherwise)
It the same gas & electricity coming through the same pipes or wires - only the billing and customer service is different.
A cost-benefit analysis does need to be done on a decison over a fixed or variable tariff as macman suggests.0
