Pay rise after discharge - query

Hi,
My OH is bankrupt and will be automatically discharged in a few days having been bankrupt for one year.
He hasn't had to have an IPA as he didn't earn enough.
My question is, if he now gets a pay-rise, does the OR need to know/able to take money from us or are we free to rebuild our lives?
I've spent a while reading the threads and haven't seen the answer on here, although could have missed it.
Cheers!

Really? Is that for definite? So he doesn't even need to tell them?
That is a huge massive relief if so!
He is negotiating with his company for a job change with significant pay rise (well, significant for us when we've been in debt for so many years and then bankrupt)... this could be a huge turning point in our lives!
My other slight worry is that he is already doing the new job on a tempoarary basis from the start of this month and any payrise would be backdated accordingly which gives a 9 day overlap between pay-rise and discharge.

Once discharged, all restrictions on earnings are lifted unless there is an IPA in force in which case you have 21days to inform your OR.
If no IPA in force, enjoy the extra income..

I would keep it under my hat if automatic discharge is within a few days. The process for discharge will already have begun.

As he is only doing it on a temporary basis at the moment and discharge is so close i would think it should be fine hunOfficial DFW NERD 189

Sorry to keep asking questions, but would it be safer to delay the pay rise for a month... I'm sure his company wouldn't object :rotfl:
Actually, he rejected a payrise a couple of months back and eventually admitted why to his boss and they were fine with it!
Thankyou very much to everyone who is posting replies by the way!If a post is helpful to you, please take a second to click "thanks", it makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

So the IPA is the two further years of restriction on earnings?
Without it BR is just the year?
Good to know.0 -

Hi Alan
If you have no IPA on you then your Bankruptcy lasts a year,in certain cases early discharge is possible and so you are discharged after roughly 6 months .
But if you get an IPA then that takes the total time before discharge to 36 months
Im sure i will b corrected if this is wrong:DOfficial DFW NERD 189
