EGG card - PPI Paid?-Yes - How do i Claim?? They no longer Exist??

Hi All,
I recently had a call from EMCAS and and as had some free time told them the following:
a) yes - i had a card with EGG. from about 2002 - 2009 possibly.
b) Yes I had apparently ticked the box for PPI upon original application.
c) I didn't need this PPI as at the time was unaware, I simply paid the min on my credit card for about 6-7 years and was unaware of the fact i was paying PPi at all.
d) upon enquiry i was informed i had been paying said PPI. :-(. I cancelled it straight away and not soon after paid ff baance.
e) i asked for details about how much I'd paid and as the topic was rife at the time, could i have proof of payments and could i have my payments back.
f) i was sent screen shots f my original application with the "YES" box ticked and basically told to go away.
Recently i had EMCAS contact me and to them phone back when i had my EGG details.
QUESTION/S ???
As EGG transferred to BCard a couple of years back and i have settled the account prior. HOW DO I FIND OUT THE DETAILS OF MY EGG CARD IN ORDER TO GIVE TO EMCAS TO MAKE THE CLAIM?
AM I GOING DOWN THE RIGHT ROUTE???
When i originally spoke to EGG regarding this they did inform me that I'd paid a considerable amount (lets say 4 figures + ) into said PPI.
My Original attempts (while they were still on the go aas EGG) failed.
Do I go with a PPI Company for ease of life? I'm busy with work and young kids.
I take the view if i get £X - 30%, its better £0 and not having to spend personal the time battling against these companies.
Any Advice in general, and especially regarding old EGG cards, please your advice would be greatly recieved.
Thanks in advance

You're going down the wrong route - there is absolutely no reason to involve a claims company, all they do is take 30% for maybe 5 minutes of hitting print and envelope stuffing, and they do absolutely nothing to improve your chance of success - in fact, they deal with so many claims that chances are yours is likely to suffer from them not keeping on top of it and not giving you copies of correspondences.
Since you know the details and you have evidence of PPI you can just take a few minutes to complete the FOS questionnaire and post it direct to Egg (Canada Square Operations as they're known now).
The only thing is that if you were previously shown that you ticked "yes" for it on the original application it's generally unlikely for you to be upheld (regardless of your complaint reasons) since that would mean you opted to select to have PPI rather than it being sold to you by a sales rep.0 -
thanks for reply,
The application fr EGG was online so i have no recollection of ticking the YES button. It was probably pre-checked. ??
I have NEVER EVER took this PPI option with any other loan/ CC in the past as feel it was £ down the drain. I always have said NO. I have always been in secure jobs and have plenty of £ backing should i ever need it.
UNFORTUNATELY - I may not have the original paper work from my first attempt at approaching them (EGG) myself. they kind of said it was my fault and tough. IE: GET LOST!!!!
i now know from recent conversations that I was in the right and shouldn't feel bullied into submission.
As i said before, I always refuse PPI and have all my life. This was one occasion where I let was fooled/tricked into subscribing. Give my life situations at the time I simply paid the Min payments (occasionally more).
I was horrified when i spoke to some bloke who confirmed I had PPI and cancelled it immediately.
Thanks in advance0 -
If you have already made a complaint and been rejected, you have six months from that date to go to the FOS> You cannot complain again unless you originally complained pre 2011.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

i haven't officially been rejected. just asked some questions and the provided me with some screen shots and told me to go away . IE: get lost???0
