Whatever you do, do NOT email your cv to 25 companies all at the same time without using the Bcc facility.

Of course, the best thing is to tailor your cv for each company, but you may well use roughly the same email each time. If you do, check thoroughly each time: it is quite revealing when someone is applying for an advertised vacancy as eg office assistant, but in their email they talk about the receptionist vacancy.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I send all mine one at a time - takes a while but spend the whole day doing a task like that sometimes. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Have a look online to find the format of the email addresses e.g. whether it is first.last@company.co.uk / f.last@..... / positionincompany@company.com.
Then you just find out the name of the person you need, you dont need to ask for the email address as you can match the two.0 -

Hi AP
Thank you so much for that. I know it was a trivial question!
However, I was thinking of a longer message on the subject line such as-
'seeking finance/accountancy roles'
But your suggestion sounds better!
Once again thanks for your help yesterday & today.
By the way, no I won't ask you to write the email !!!0 -

It's only an intro and the content of the email is more important and that you know who they are and what they do as a company etc.
Have you applied for any actually accounts work already that has been advertised? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No I haven't applied for any accounts roles at present.
The only roles that I have applied for are credit control - I have 10 years experience of credit control.
However, I would like to move on to other roles such as accounts assistant & assistant accountant roles, since I have almost completed my AAT accounting qualification.
Unfortunately, I am in a catch 22 situation regarding other accounts roles - no experience no job.0 -
You could always be like me - too much experience which is even worseAP

Have a look for some all round accounts roles and just apply and see what happens and try to get some feedback.
Look at the industry you have the credit control experience in.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
