Bedroom furniture set recommendation?

Hi!
I'm moving into my flat soon and need to buy furniture for it... I want to start with the bedroom first (need a bed to sleep!) since its a bare necessity and will consider the other bits later.

I was thinking light colored oak furniture, for some reason dark color in bedroom feels a bit depressing!

Anyway, it seems that for a hefty price quite a few places sell bedroom furniture suits. For example (remove space and prefix with http:// for the links to work):

Thorndon Eden Bedroom Set
bit . ly /159CpiR

Toulouse Furniture Package
bit . ly /14QDpY4

On the other hand, for a lot less, you can get Ikea sets too, for example the Hemnes range.

How's your experience with buying bedroom sets. Would you recommend any?

I've got some of the Hemnes range (in the depressing brown/black though) well made, still in immaculate condition but have only had it a year, the Malm looks decent quality too.
