Buying shopping vouchers with a cashback credit card

Following my question about council tax, if I bought some store vouchers with a credit card, do they treat that as a purchase that's eligible for cashback, or would that be a cash advance?

    Its treated as a purchase.

    Ah that's good to know, thanks - could be useful if I get near the end of the cashback bonus period and haven't reached the spend limit yet.
