faulty comet item

I bought a Frigidaire rice cooker form comet, in the last week of trading in November, i paid £15.99. on the second time i used it (the day the last shop shut!) it stopped half way through and now will not work at all.
I cannot find a uk site or number to ring for this company, do i put it down to experiece or is there something i can do?
I have just found the receipt.

Comet bought the Frigidaire stock from the administrators for the uk importers of Frigidaire a company called Highway who were in administration.

apparently the manufacturer has gone bust too!!
Have just spoke to masterfit who said to ring 0800 repairs who said they dont do small item repairs. I now have the administrators number but got lost in their press 1 press 2 ect system!! will try again later.
