Cheap internet package for cruises

I read somewhere that there is an internet package you can buy in the UK before you go on a cruise, the internet packages on board ships are very expensive for such a short time, Does anyone know about this please?

you are looking for "satellite internet" and I guess some sort of a preloaded dongle - can find some that offer a monthly contract but I am sure there will be some that offer short-term

You can get cheapish data roaming packages for your phone but they only work when on/near land.

Some have reported issues with billing on some phone networks so they don't get charged when conected to the micro net on the ship.

A sat system will probably have practical issues on a ship.
