Hi There. We paid a one off payment of £900 to protect Chelsea if mortgage was not paid. We then paid £89pm Employment Protection. We worked for Citibank and remortgaged with Chelsea. Chelsea knew although we only worked for Citibank (Citi-corp) we were employed on Self employed basis. When we became unemployed they would not pay out on the premise that the policy was not for self-employed! They then re-possessed but credited the premiums to the account. Admission of fault me thinks!!!0 -

Not uncommon in the past. Most lenders used to charge a MIG but its unusual nowadays. We then paid £89pm Employment Protection.
Which is fair enough. It has nothing to do with the MIG payment though.Chelsea knew although we only worked for Citibank (Citi-corp) we were employed on Self employed basis. When we became unemployed they would not pay out on the premise that the policy was not for self-employed!
How do you know it wouldnt cover the self employed? Most do. You may be right but many people that assume self employed means you are not covered actually find out they were covered. They then re-possessed but credited the premiums to the account. Admission of fault me thinks!!!
You think wrong. It is quite common for rebates in that scenario. Even if it was wrong, the fact it was rebated means they resolved the problem.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
