Hi guys
Please help!!
Got the above phone new on Saturday, and have been trying (unsuccessfully obviously!) ever since to get it connected to my MiFi. It's a 3 Huawei e586. It finds it and connects, then a few seconds later decides to disconnect, retries, remembers, forgets, connects...
I've tried manually inputting settings, automatic, resetting the unit, yadda, yadda. The X go is still on Gingerbread. There is an update on 3 support which wouldn't install for me either. I'm tearing my hair out!!
Is there something simple I'm missing?! I'll likely need a trip to the O2 shop asap to try to get them to help.
I haven't been anywhere to try any other WiFi so can do this with O2. MiFi has been working perfectly so far with a laptop, 1 Sony phone, 3 iPhones and 3 Blackberrys.
Help!!

my android phone used to do this when connecting to my home wifi, forget the network and then restart the phone and try again, that's how mine used to correct itself, have you checked for ota updates on the phone (about phone>software update) I recently got a sony and there was an update straight away...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Tried forgetting the restarting the phone there - same problem.
Checked for system updates on the phone and it says I've the latest already on the phone.
I'm prefer to keep my phone on GB rather than switch to ICS so don't want to start messing with stuff in that respect.
Wondering should I maybe try again to update the Mifi?? (although it does say games consoles) http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBISAPI.dll/,/?New,Kb=Mobile,Ts=Mobile,T=Device,varset_pid=4950,varset_cid=5542,Case=obj(5515)Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
why don't you want to move to ics, i found it much better on my sony phone...

Been looking online at various forums and stuff to see should I or shouldn't I. Mixed reviews to be honest!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

Update!!
Called in to O2 at lunch. My phone works perfect on the O2 WiFi, and was able to connect an iPhone 5 to my MiFi no problem.
Tried another Xperia Go and it did the same as my phone. Also tried an Xperia U (I think!) which worked perfectly!!! Both Sony phones are on Gingerbread so not that.
Guy in O2 suggested I bring my phone back for a refund
Called in at 3 and the guy gave me the tel number for broadband support
Back at work I tried updating the MiFi as per my post above, but still the same problem.

*sigh*
3 couldn't help. They confirmed the settings for a static IP address but that wouldn't work either!
Installing Ice Cream at the minute so fingers crossed!!
If that doesn't work will skoot back into 3 shop! Will see if I can connect to another Hauwei device in there in case it's just mine.
Back to update later!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Finally! Got it sorted!!
So that's the solution then:
for the Xperia Go to work with the Huawei e586 it needs to be on ICS.
Thanks for your help too the_r_soleWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
