Hi, just received my first statement for my 123 account which was transferred from a previous A&L account. A couple of questions:

The cashback and interest have been paid but they have not taken the £2 fee:j. Does that normally show in the series of transactions for cashback/interest payments.

Secondly, I thought I read somewhere that statements for this account would be paper ones, my new one still came as an e document as all the others did. How do others get the statements.

Thanks

  • For postal statements you need to login to your account, select Account Services from menu at top of page, then select e-documents on LHS of page, then under 'receive by post' select yes or no for the account concerned.

Account monthly fees are charged on the monthly anniversary date of account opening.

Thanks for that, I do not want postal statements but I thought that was a requirement for the 123 account.

Well they did not take £2 on the anniversary date, I will see what happens next month.

My £2 always gets debited the (working-) day after I get cashback and interest.

Not sure where you got the "requirement" for paper statements from - - it's just like with any other account I have ever seen: you decide whether you want paper or paperless. Personally, I prefer everything paperless - especially since statements just contain information that I have long already seen on the transactions list.

    Ah, found it.

Bottom of the page, not too sure why they just pick those 2 accounts. My old account was a Premier Direct (travel)

I am not sure why they pick any accounts for paper-mail. Seems a rather backwards move to me.

Thankfully, it doesn't apply to my 123.

My £2 gets debited on the 9th of each month and the cashback + interest credited on 15th.

I understood from a conversation with Santander that interest and cashback for all 123 accounts was credited on 15th of each month - although I might well have misunderstood.

    For what it's worth..

    My £2 gets debited on the 13th/14th, interest paid on the same day;
Cashback is credited on the 29th.
My statement date is the 30th/31st.

First time this month (in about 10 months), I had my interest, cashback and fee all happen on the same day (11th). Probably an effect of weekend getting in the way.

I have had this account for quite a while now and have never checked the cashback amounts paid. Today, for some reason, I actually looked at the cashback and immediately noticed it was incorrect. I then looked at last month's and something was not right.

Every month, I have the same direct debits going out, but having looked at my cashback amounts, the 'comms' ones are not consistent. I have just spoken to someone at Santander who says she has never seen this before, completely understands the issue and has referred it to the appropriate department to be looked at. After I spoke to her I looked at my account in more detail, and noticed that the cashback paid this month did not include council tax, which was definitely paid in January.

I will post later when I get an answer.
