Benefit fraud is fraud - no matter how you dress it up.

Hope you saved the money for the payments you owe.

??? how is that relevant to what i posted and you quoted and replied to?

My child benefit has not been cancelled and neither has my tax credit so I just want to know why the council tax benefit department want to know my sons student status.

Do you have younger children at home? If not, you should not still be receiving CB and CTC.

If you are receiving them and haven't notified the authorities, you are risking being charged with fraud.

I have a feeling this is a troll post, surely nobody (even on here) can be so clueless about benefits

This is a council tax enquiry, it's nothing to do with child benefit.

Do you think they want this information so they can pass it over to child benefit?

your CTB has been stopped because you have a son at uni who you should not be getting CB or CTC (if you were)for
as this is now feb and i assume he went to uni in late sept you may face a bill for back payment(at least)
