Cheque bounce charge

Hi,

I had in my account 500 and wrote out a cheque for 500, but i forgot that i have a direct debit set up for another 500 quid per month for tuition fees, so as the tuition fee of 500 quid was taken out, which i forgot about i wrote a cheque out for 500 quid for something else, hence this bounced and i got a 38 quid charge. Is this reclaimable?

Thanks

Yes the £38 is unlawful and you can claim it back - Its a bank charge

    Hope that helps

For such a small claim (£38.00) I would just ring them and ask for it back. I wouldn't go through the letters process unless it was over £100, personally.

I would go down the claim route then, you will get it all back

Is it worth the hassle for the extra 19 pounds?
