HSBC offer from loan over 10 years ago

Hi folks,
I never thought I would be eligible but after seeing Marton on the TV I thought I'd give it a chance as I have two Graduate Loans from HSBC many moons ago in 2000.
I haven't had the paper work showing the loan documents and can't even remember how much I borrowed but I have had an offer back from HSBC offering me about £2500.
One is for a redress of £499 plus 8% interest totalling £441, and another for a redress of £948 and 8% interest of £655.
Their letter claims says they are effectively returning the insurance along with an element of gross interest.
I'm looking for advice on whether you think I should just accept the offer without having seen any proof of the loan amounts etc.
I'm quite pleased with the offer but wondered if they might be hoping I'll just accept. As I don't know any details of the loan I can't work it out for myself.
Many thanks

If you don't know any details you can't really complain can you?
To get proof of amount you now have to send a SAR [front page sticky] and £10, wait up to 40 days [or more] for them to send the info back, then argue about it with them after that.
That's assuming your complaint is upheld, not a goodwill payment.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
