winterthur ppi claims

Options
Hey guys

I have a PPi claim I need to make against Winterthur Life. I cannot find any details where to make a PPi claim.

Anyone got the address details you need to send the details to? My policy was from around 1999 to 2005 if that makes any difference.

Thanks

AFAIK Winterthur agents didn't sell PPI.

They may have advised on Accident, Sickness and Unemployment cover, with providers like Paymentshield around 1996 - 2001.

This cover was recommended based on your needs and circumstances and the contract was monthly premium renewable, with no cancellation penalties.

If you wish to raise a concern, you should write to the old HO address in Basingstoke in the first instance;-

    Winterthur Life (UK) Ltd
    Winterthur Way
    Basingstoke
    RG21 6SZ.

They didnt I believe. Plus, none of their plans have PPI on them either. I dont think they had a PPI plan (as that would require a general insurance company and not a life company).

My parents had there mortgage arranged through a Wintherthur FA, and the mortgage was set up with the Halifax.
The problem faced is that my father now deceased and my mother having moved and paid the mortgage in full. Can't find any account details, or paperwork.
How would she go about seeing if there was any ppi to claim and does she go to the Halifax first?
    Any advice appreciated.

That isnt how it works. She would be making a formal complaint against the winterthur adviser stating the reasons why she believes it was mis-sold.

Halifax wouldnt know. Winterthur probably wouldn't know either as the Winterthur agents would probably have had their own general insurance agencies back then (its been a very long time since they were around and this is pre-regulation).

So, can ask the old Winterthur FA if she can find him/her.

Even if she had it, what would be her reasons for complaint? (noting that its pre-regulation, an adviser sale (adviser sales only account for 1% of PPI complaints and most of those are rejected) and it would be against MPPI which sees most complaints rejected anyway)

Have to agree with the others.
I think the clue is in the name that this is not a PPI but a life assurance policy.
