Cost of switching to electricity
Hello all, first-timer here!
I have just had my heating oil stolen for the second time in a week and cannot see a security solution.
Can anyone advise me on the sort of cost comparison if I were to switch to an electric boiler in my current wet heating system? I realise it will be expensive, but in the order of what? My current boiler is 18 years old so I assume not too efficient.
Any help please!
Thank you.

An electric boiler....in my opinion....is pointless...
You may as well just use several convector heaters even on a temporary basis. They don't look as attractive as a wet central heating system but they will cost exactly the same to run as an electric wet central heating system.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

put 240v to the tank will soon stop the bleeders
other than that is there no way of putting a housing round the tank to make it harder for the thiefs0 -

What! that is BAD, stolen oil.
A sign of how hard times are getting. It makes me chuccle every time I see the cheese locked up in plastic boxes in Iceland. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0
