Assembling double wardrobe on sloping floor?

We are about to assemble a 4 door double wardrobe in our bedroom, now the room is decorated and new carpet has been fitted. However, upon laying the base on the carpet, it turns out the floor has a fair slant on it, meaning the whole thing will be pitching over to the right. There aren't many other places in the bedroom where it would fit nicely, and my spirit level suggests the whole room is on the tilt anyway. Should we just build it and fill it up? Am I worrying for nothing? Or is all that weight on slanted beams (built like that in 1971 - there is no trace of subsidence or cracking - it appears the builders had no idea what spirit levels were) likely to put extra stress on them?

i would say the beams will be fine how ever yoiu may have the odd issue with the wardrobe depending on its sturdniess they can flexx slightly when not perfectly level and straight resulting in doors needing adjusting to close.0

Where did you get the wardrobe from? I believe that wardrobes purchased from the big blue and yellow warehouse have individually adjustable feet to account for uneven floors.
Could you attach it to the wall or construct some sort of frame to help keep it straight?"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I would have thought that if the floor is strong enough, the fact that it is sloping slightly won't be an issue. But I would put some wedges under the feet of the wardrobe to try to get it as level as possible.0

First question, are you sure your level is accurate, it only takes dropping them a couple of times to impact their accuracy. My dad recently moved house and he stored his tools at my factory for a bit. He had 4 spirit levels and every one was out, to varying degrees.
Re the wardrobes you will have to fit them to level or the doors wont sit properly. If its important you would then just scribe some architrave around the bottom to close the gap.0 -
I imagine that the wardrobes are made from coated chipboard sections. If so the back will stay pretty well square from the tacked on rear panels. This could ,in combination with the rest of the construction, keep the whole item in reasonably accurate shape - only time will tell.
More of an issue would be any unsightly lean from the side of the wardrobe evident against a wall.
I shouldn't get too carried away about the accuracy of your spirit level ; just lay it down, note the position of the bubble and then turn it through 180 degrees . If you get pretty much the same reading then it is not overly inaccurate.Forgotten but not gone.0
