M&S Awful service

Just a vent - recently ordered an item online from M&S. Paid for a quick delivery and waited...got an email next day to say order was delayed until the following week. This wasn't ideal for me so I asked why. they then rearranged for the following day. great - if it arrived. i waited another day and then received another email to say order was delayed once again until the following day.

Another email arrived on that day to say the order would arrive another two days away. by this time I was fuming. Three failed deliveries! So I complained and was then told that the item was not in stock and I would not receive it. However I should be glad that I hadn't been charged for it apparently.

I complained at my treatment and was told that their ordering system sometimes shows things being in stock when in fact they are not. This doesn't explain why I was promised my item three times before being told it didn't exist.

Finally I got a £5 voucher to use online as a way of apologising (I have little faith in that option!) which I think is pretty poor but the best they seem to be willing to give me.

I thought M&S was meant to be better quality.

Funny thing is that I ordered a similar item from Asda on saturday and received it today (Monday) and I couldn't have asked for better service. And it was half the price...go figure.

    online orders are hit and miss. I stop shopping with places that dont do live stock orders.

    waste of my time and money as they hold the funds as soon as order is confirmed!

    so it can be up to a week for them to release!

    It's regularly reported on here that M&S online offers poor service, personally I find their service across the board to be pretty ropey these days.
