in Credit cards
Hi. We are probably all aware of Section 75 giving customers recourse to their credit card provider if goods/services are faulty or not supplied on the basis the payment was made by credit card
I have read somewhere that the recourse to the credit card issuer is only on the basis that the original payment was made to the "provider" of the services/goods.
What is the case with say Travel Agents. I have made the payment to them as a "third party" with the services i.e. the cruise being provided by Celebrity Cruises.
I would be interested to see answers
Cheers

Without more information about what your claim is for, it's hard to give any correct advice. You won't get answers until you ask a question.0

Sorry I thought I was clear.
I am asking for clarification if you have the protection of Section 75 if the credit card payment is made to a "third party" not directly to the "provider" of the service.
In this case the payment is made to travel agent XXX and the service is being provided by Celebrity Cruises.
In particular if the Travel Agent goes bust before it makes payment to the cruise company.

See the search box top right of your screen? Enter 'section 75' and select 'main site', then click the first result returned. You should see...

When you've digested that, go to the FOS website and type 'section 75 travel agent' in their search box. The first result returned should be...

I think you'll find these two articles, and associated links, will answer your question.0 -
Thanks Yorkshire boy for your reply. On reading the two articles you mentioned it would appear to me that I could not claim back from the credit card company if the Travel Agent went bust before passing monies to the cruise provider.0

Your contract with the TA is to book and pay for your holiday.
If the TA doesn't book and/or pay for the holiday they're in breach of contract aren't they?
Is breach of contract covered by section 75?0 -
Of course the OP is also forgetting it will most likely be Abta/Atol bonded anyway.
A lot a purchases via a travel agent will debit as the holiday co used.
Also S75 is not often used in such cases as chargeback options are avaiable.
Perhaps the OP, would be better seeking advice from their card provider as well.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
