Halifax Mess Up

I applied online to switch to the Halifax Reward account to cash in on the £100 offer. Today I got a letter with my account details, saying 'Welcome to your new Halifax Easycash account" but enclosed was T&C's for the Reward Account. Confused, I called Halifax who said they made a mistake and they were meant to decline me for the Reward account and offer me an Easycash account instead. I would have said no to this as I have a full bank account elsewhere and Easycash does not give £100 for switching. But instead of giving me a choice, they opened it anyway, sent me a misleading and confusing letter and started switching over my HSBC account!
I can't believe these mistakes. I'm not sure how far into the switching process they are but I've told them to stop it. I'm not sure who I can complain to/ how to close this account that I didn't apply for.

You should raise a concern following the banks compliant procedure:

Well I've closed the account, they said there is nothing they can do and they just said sorry. I don't imagine making an official complaint would get me anywhere?0
