I was listening to a review on vnunet tonight where they were talking about memory and saying that flash memory is going to be the future - not HDD. Maybe.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

I have always bought Creative mp3 gear. The sound quality up to press has always been superb... The Zen Vision M 30gb is pure sonic heaven. Sadly though, I was disappointed with the 4gb Zen V+ I bought. I struggled to get a good sound from all the earphones I had ( shure, etymotic and sennheisers ) The bass was bloated, Highs were shrill and the soundstage was none existant, with instruments sounding very congested. The Zen Nano Plus sounds tons better to me.

Having said that, I have a Creative Zen Sleek Photo (past Argos offer) and it has been brilliant and solid as a rock.
Me too, and I have to say that although it feels like a rock it has been superb - everything I could have wanted, and can't knock the quality of it.
I would shy away though from a 1GB player! These days that is nowhere near enough for anyone's needs.

Bit off topic, but they're been speculating about the demise of hard disks for decades. THe problem is how many flash chip you need to make a 200, 300, 500GB flash hard disk.

Back on topic, my dad's got a Zen V+ and it looks really good

not strictly true - I still have a 512 mb player and have never come close to filling it! I am continually changing my favourite songs and never seem to have more than a dozen I want to listen to at any one time. Not everybody wants to keep their entire music collection on a little portable device.

Big thumbs up for Creative from me mind. We have five of them in our house, varying models, never had an issue with any of them.

Don't forget the Zen Vision M 30GB is on clearance at John Lewis ( all colours except black) for £99, some stores still have them!

If you can find one - I ordered 2, one arrived with no ability to charge (no replacement available - return/refund) and one was actually a Zen V (no replacement available - return / refund).

Yeah I know what you mean, on phoning round there's none near to me.

Its worth checking though because for the lucky few its a great buy.

Also wondering if the black ones will drop down in price soon as there's plenty of them in stock!
