Just to let peeps know before the go rushing to currys - this is a 1 gigabyte mp3 player, no offence to poster but IMHO £49 for 1gb is a bit much these days.
2gb 69.99
4gb 99.99

It is £46.99 from ebuyer, but if you use google checkout it will be £36.99 + p&p which is about £2-3 so still about £10 cheaper then what you paid for.

I would seriously give a warning to anyone thinking of buying the zen micro above.
I had it once and it was a nightmare. The player keep freezing on me after 2months of use and not long after that, the infamous headphone jack problem happened to me and after researching for abit, I found many people with the same experiences as me.
And Creative's customer support is appalling as usual but after a tedious process, I managed to RMA the player and I sold it after getting it back and I'm glad I made the decision.
So if you intending to buy the player, do read up on the potential problems you may face, and try searching for the headphone jack problem as well. Although there is a fix for that problem, but it requires you to take your player apart which is not very advisable unless you know what you are doing.0 -
i have had a creative zen microphoto for about 6 months now and have had no problems with it at all.
It is the best mp3 player in my honest opinion.0 -

They apparently fixed the headphone jack problem with the zen micro photo but we are talking about the zen micro here.
And I really dont know how you can justify the mp3 player as being the best unless you have used, tested and compared it with all the other mp3 players in the market? :rolleyes:0 -
Some ZEN Microphoto's had problems with the disk drive (Samsung I think). I had one and after a few weeks it just kept locking up requiring a reset. Eventually it just locked - period (return/refund). I also picked up a Cowon iX5(Toshiba disk) which has done the same on the Staples clearance. CowonGlobal Tech Support have been dismal flogging a dead horse but not as much fun - USA Support (LiveChat/email) helpful but not their region - diagnose YEP - fix NOPE.
Having said that, I have a Creative Zen Sleek Photo (past Argos offer) and it has been brilliant and solid as a rock.
Summary? - You pays your money and you takes your chances. I would go for Flash memory for preference, and for a HDD player a REALLY good customer support record. On the plus side, if disks fail they tend to fail early on.......Othewise avoid Cowon like the plague - no support of any note or use in the UK. I've used iRiver players in the past and love them to bits 8 in all for me and the family - only one problem and customer support just replaced immediately, no fuss or bother.
Summary of the Summary: for 1GB it seems expensive. The Zen Microphoto is a great buy as long as the disk is solid, so use it heavily for a couple of months. If it lasts the first couple of months it should be a gem.0 -
Play also have some good prices

They did say:

So it's in their opinon, and as its an opinion they are perfectly entitled to it!0
