Post Office Credit Card

in Credit cards
I have just had a random phone call regarding my Post Office credit card because there has been a failed transaction attempted at a service station in Montreal, Canada.
The gentleman asked if this was my transaction, which it wasnt, he also gave me the last 3 tansactions on the card which were made in Tenerife last November which i confirmed as correct.
He has cancelled my card and is sending me out a replacement.
Do I have anything to worry about?
Thanks
Joy

You might want to give your computer a clean, and think about whether you've shopped anywhere dodgy, but otherwise no.
Fraud happens, and as long as they're refunding you, that's all you need to worry about.0 -
Not now the card has been cancelled no, and they have confirmed that the card has no further unauthorised use, so all good there, but I would suggest you get copies of your credit files immediately just to be sure, may also be a good idea to call the other credit card providers/banks you deal with just to check no use that you weren't expecting.
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
Your card has been skimmed/cloned,most possibly in Tenerife where you used it last.Nothing to worry if its been cancelled.
Good on post office for picking up on the fraud and acting swiftly!0 -
It goes without saying that one must be very wary of people calling up claiming to be from your CC! If they ask for any personal data, I'd call them back (checking the line has been cleared...)0
