Metric or imperial? Either way, seems like you don't stay in much. :)

    Used : 262 Imperial Units

    262 x 31 = 8,122 kWh

over 42 days, so 193kWh per day, including hot water and cooking.

Assume 3.5p per kWh £6.77 a day for gas.

    £203 for 30 days.

Not too bad for a 5 bed semi.

Small/medium sized Mid-terrace house, not too badly insulated, with D/Glazing

Check that loft For £'s saved on Gas bills v £'s spent on Loft Insulation, it's the best money saver - It's an easy DIY job, particularly in a new house where the loft hasn't yet been filled with 'Can't throw that away" junk, and insulation materials are as cheap as chips

Thanks, I've got a loft conversion, which at present I'm not heating. I should have mentioned that. I get the feeling this doesn't help. It's got storage areas in the eaves, these get quite cold. I'm going to try and get these better insulated as soon as possible
