WHICH IS CHEAPER - Heating on or off???
Options
All,
discussion with the Mrs............what is cheaper?
Keeping the heating on 24/7 but during the night and day (when at work) we drop the thermostat from 19 to 15 and back up to 19 when we are in at night. The reason for this is that it costs 'more' to switch the heating on and off.
Or use the timer switch, heating only on at night or when someone in the house during the day.
This is during the winter, no need for too much heating in the summer.
Cheers

Turn it off and you will save. This is a annual topic that comes up every winter.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

The longer the heating is off - the cheaper.
Turning the thermostat down to 15C in most cases will be the same as having the heating off, as many house will not drop 4C in a few hours.0 -
This is what your wife wants to hear:
By installing the new MIRACLE lining paper on your walls, containing Pincherite, you will get DOUBLE the heat you put in.
By keeping the heat on ALL the time, you keep the lining paper active all the time, so the wife will be warm ALL the time, which is basically what she wants.
I think I could make a mint selling kitchen foil to shivering housewives.0
