Hello Malc
Thank you for responding
I pay monthly
An email comes ever month for (feb it was on the 9th) saying my bill is now ready - view it and then i enter my meter reading online, gets accepted, new amount of bill is generated and then paid all on the same screen as where i had entered my readings - once this is done there is no real need for me to view the paper view bill online,
ive done this ever since i had the online facility, but this time round ive been told that since december 2012 (7/12/12 bill date) nov 8/11/12)
when ive been entering my metre readings online somehow they've been accepted by the system but turned into estimate readings without any notice from the computer and thats why this bill is so much it's the shortfall total amount of the 3 months nov, dec, jan added on to febs bill
- -but why didn't the metre readings go through? thats where my complaint is and when i asked the customer services why didn't they notify me of this and would (they) Eon have let the estimates carry on until an actual metre reading was generated and with me receiving a bill in the thousands - how would that have been fair to me when i was putting in metre readings and the online system defaulting them to estimates??
Morning nadmaj
Although you pay monthly, is your normal billing cycle quarterly?
Have you registered with our website with a username/password? Or, do you just use the meter reading/pay bill functions (don't need to register for these options)?
Customers registered with our website are billed quarterly and the advice I gave above about the billing window will be relevant.
However, if not and you're billed monthly, this is a little different. Here, we'll estimate if we haven't had a reading in the 5 days before the bill date.
If readings are entered outside of this time frame, again, they'll be recorded but not used for billing.
It's always good to view your bill. They contain all sorts of information to help you keep on top of your account.
You can contact us and give us readings at any time. Not only via our website but also through a variety of other channels. These include email, twitter, facebook or by phone. We'll always be happy to re-bill the account to your readings.
Sorry for all the questions nadmaj. Just trying to understand what might have happened here.
