Is this a new offer? Came across it tonight whilst trawling the internet but can't see any dates attached to it. Applied for a Coventry Family 1st a couple of days ago by post and sent cheque but thinking maybe it is too much hassle and might just go for this.
Any thoughts? And can I close the new a/c without hassle?

Nope it's not new. Been around for a few months now, but it must be new to HSBC money.
You can close the other account anytime you like or simply leave it open, but don't use it.0 -
Also if BoE raises interest rates by 0.25% next week the ICESAVE guarantee will mean it's rate will have to increase to at least 5.75% AER matching the rate offered by HSBC but without any penalties.0
