It was mentioned yesterday that HC had received a lifetime ban from MSE which to me, seems excessive. And by posting as an AE he was breaking forum rules.

Perhaps the way forward is or Happy to see if there is an appeals process on MSE. There surely must be! At which point people may be able to "speak for him".
In this ge of Diversity we should not be discriminating against someone because they have autism.
    It is wrong.

Are you listening Martin? What do you think? Are you going to change your "rules"?

Very well said. I have read several of the posts and wanted to comment, but you have put this so much better than me :T:T:T

Anyone no anywhere to get the kindle paperwhite cheaper than £99 (thats with a £10 off code with amazon).
Went out for the day today and now I am buying my beloved one of these :D

Will you let me know what its like, I had a play with one of these instore and was impressed. The only thing I didn't like was that you go forward by pressing the right side and back by pressing the left. On my keyboard kindle there are 2 buttons on each side and can use either side to back and forward. It doesn't sound like a lot to fuss over but when I'm reading one handed in bed its very useful.

Would also be interested in how even they find the back light.

    Can't help with price though.:D
  • Good morning everybody, I hope you are all well. Hooray to a fabulous Friday. Happy shopping.

I woke up the freezer door open. I think squeezing the chicken in last night was the final straw. Everything seems to be ok though.
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.

    Just been catching up.
A big thankyou to those mentioning Autism (and big hugs to Dopey even though I'm relatively new and don't know you very well).
We believe my teenager has autism and despite us chasing get down every route for the last 8 years now we've been fobbed off so often it's driven us bonkers and we've given up so many times.
I've just sat and Google a suggestion made by someone and I now have a parent partnership number to ring in the morning as it's got to the point now where DS is going to screw his GCSEs up soon if he doesn't get help.
The SENCO teacher at his school has been fobbing us off this time since November and sitting here by myself with time to think for once has made me decide I've had enough and I'm going to get it sorted.
Sorry for rambling on, I think I've finally reached that tipping point where I'm going to find someone and get them to listen to me and not shut up until they do.

Have you been to your GP?

Also you could write to the school with a copy sent to their governing body?

Even contact the additional needs department of the LEA.

But even if you get the ball rolling now the wheels turn incredibly slowly and it can take months/years to actually anything put in place.

I really would advise the GP route and insisting for a referral, would be quicker obviously to get a private assessment and with a private assessment you'd then still have to badger the LEA/school.

Morning everyone, a very cold start it's reported that it's -8C on the radio but my weather station has decided not to register the outside temp today! off to the hospital today so will be playing candy crush on my phone, wish I had listened to the advice about how addictive a game it is, and as it's our 28th wedding anniversary I expect a treat later :) but will never ever match fairclaire's car:rotfl:
