Yes, the IDP came in, in January this year. Florida has made it law. Originally for 'non english' language DL's but has gone through as all visitors. Will be appealed against approx April but if successful will not be required for English written DL's. Haven't got a link sorry but on the dibb board www.//flhsmv.gov/IDP.htm www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=677966 Available at the PO for about £5 or the AA/Rac for £2.50 more. Unlikely to be enforced but you can always get a jobsworth, so for £5 not worth risking it. Not many car hire sites have been updated yet. HTH.
12 weeks today :j:j:j
Ah yes DIBB I knew it was a funny word0 -

MKS do you know anything about an "International Driving Permit" now needed for Florida ? It was mentioned in yesterdays Independent newspaper
Could you give me that link again to that forum its on here somewhere but cant find it
Apologies for being a bit AWOL peeps trying to juggle lots & keep all the balls in the air & not doing too well
HI QPR10.
Simon Calder was on BBC breakfast this morning talking about this, there are only 80 odd post offices in the country you can get one from. He spoke to the Florida authorities yesterday and was told they aren't going to enforce the law on this. (Apparently they wanted to ensure all driving docs were in English, completely ignoring the fact that UK, Australian, Canadian etc docs WERE in English - muppets  !!!! ) (No offence Mad - and happy birthday!)
I think I'd pop along to the right post office though with my £5.50, driving licence and other id such as passport, just to be on the safe side ! Peeps have been being turned away because they didn't have them. In the words of Dr Sheldon Cooper, "What fresh hell is this?Hope is not a strategy.0 -

Morning all
Still trying to catch up after a few days away, but had to laugh at logie's post. Reminded me of the first time I looked after my goddaughter on my own. Nappy changing time came around and she'd had a good old poop. I have not changed a nappy for maybe 18 years so went at it military style with all the stuff laid out ready, baby on changing mat and gloves on.
Baby managed to wiggle to end of changing mat and grab hold of table leg and start pulling herself off mat. This was not good as she was covered in poop.
Pried her fingers off table leg (how strong are babies!), put her back in centre of matt and set about cleaning her up.
Was so busy concentrating on bottom end of baby that I didn't realise top half had gone quiet.
Finished cleaning her and looked for the sudocream ready to put new nappy on. Couldn't see it anywhere. And that's when it dawned on me that she had been awful quiet. I looked up to the head end of the little darling and sure enough, sudocream in her mouth, hair, smeared all over face, on rug etc etc. She had used pretty much the whole pot.
Having never bathed a baby I was too nervous to put her in bath so she got handed back to mother in a less than perfect condition :rotfl:
my dd2 loves creams and few monthes back i had to but my throws in the bin as she put seducream all over them and it wuldnt come off and she was like coved in it two and took ages to wash off in bath :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
