Silent/Low Noise pet clippers

Can anyone recommend a silent/very quiet trimmer for a heavily matted cat?! My friend just rescued her dads cats who'd been left outside since he's been moved into a home, and the long haired girl is in a bit of a state, plus I'd like a trimmer to sort my fluffy butted boys out when they get things stuck in their fur. I'm currently looking on Amazon, but alot of the reviews are conflicting.
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

I would suggest you get in touch with a vet. They can sedate the cat and give her an all over shave. Getting it done without a bit of sedation would be a bit traumatic for everyone including the cat. Once she has been clipped it would be a matter of grooming her regularly, therefore you would never need to use the clippers again. It would also be a good opportunity to have the cat immunised, wormed, flea treatment applied, microchipped and generally looked over for any other problems that might have been missed.
As for your fluffy butted boys - I had one of them for too. Again, it was a case of constant grooming and occasionally having to pull to get a bit of debris out. I found a dog's Zoom Groom very useful, though they are available for cats as well (think they are really the same thing, just different labels). I would use a long handled cat/dog comb too, it usually did the trick. If I pulled too hard he let me know. It would be easier for you if you had someone to hold him while you worked on their coats.0 -
oster dog clippers are in my view the best, but they are very expensive. I would follow snowy owls advice. xRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. That's all very well if you have a spare 90 quid to go and have it done at the vets! It's £50 at the groomers.
We both have cats and know all about their needs, but I was specifically looking for recommendations on clippers. My friend said she is settled already and loves being brushed, so with 2 of us there won't be a problem, she was letting me cut the biggest knots out with scissors.
I've ordered one from Amazon, so will let you know how it goes and post some pics if we can get some.Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
We have a pair of andis. Pretty quiet, powerful enough to smooth through my very curly cocker spaniel0
