My Child Bid Blah Blah Blah

Options
Ok Ok I know what the answer will probably be from experienced sellers but can I have it confirmed please?

Sold a Blackberry Phone, reasonable price for it.

Got the old, 'Oh my child bid on the item please cancel and offer second chance'

New Ebay member purchased it (less than 2 months)

They are very apologetic of course but I don't believe it as it's all been heard before.

Do I go for the non paying bidder strike (I always do when I get non responders) and risk what happens then or do I cancel as requested (and how do I do that without losing money)

Sorry, was going to double check it all via Live Help but it is not available at present.

Thanks in advance!

Go for the strike, also if you do an advanced search on their username and the things they have bid on it wouldn't at all surprise me if they had bid on and won the same phone minutes before winning yours. Its all to common, don't mutually cancel the sale - definately NPB

Problem being though if you don't agree to cancel the sale, they may well just pay up to avoid the strike. They then may well go on to claim INR or SNAD in which case you will have to refund them and they have the ability to hammer your feedback and possibly detroy your phone with a hammer.
I've had the child bidder thing too.
If they are capable of sending a message to claim it was an accident they are capable of agreeing a cancellation request.
If i get this sort of message straight away i usually agree but if they take days i won't trust them to go through with the mutual.

I never have believed the child bidder thing but having caught my 3yr old browsing ebay i woudn't be surprised if it does sometimes really happen. She clicks on anything!

They are probably telling porkies but my 3 year old daughter thinks my iPad is "hers" and I nipped to the toilet for 1 minute and came back and she had bought a buy it now item on ebay:eek:
I emailed the seller and apologised and asked to send me a cancelation, thankfully they agreed. So while uncommon it can happen

As a seller if your daughter is able to find an item, press BIN and then confirm (on two pages) I sincerely hope you don't make a habit of leaving your personal finance details insecure. I would not allow you to cancel on such an excuse, I've heard it all before and it is not any sellers fault that a buyer is lax with their info.

If you choose the cancellation - and the buyer does not confirm - you lose out. Also - they can leave you feedback.

Its NPB all the way for me.

Just worried as another poster has pointed out that they will be forced to pay and then go down the phone wrecking/INR/Item not in box scenario.
    Grrr people are so annoying!

I was looking at an item and nature called, was only gone for a minute. I didn't tell the buyer my daughter had pressed it. I just said I had pressed it by mistake and would they please cancel, if they didn't want to cancel then I would have paid and resisted the item myself.

As I have had people bid then ask to cancel after i know how annoying it is and wouldn't want to do that to another seller.

I'd open a non paying buyer after 4 days.

My 2 year old bid and won something. I wasrtrying to bid £7 at the end, burt he pressed buttons and we ended up bidding £766! Thankfully we won for just over £9, so not the end of the world, and not too far over my original maximum. Obviously I paid...

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
