As Comet Has gone

Hi I have A friend who purchased a fridge on HP from Comet but as the are longer around he is under the impression does not have pay any thing is he correct thinking that

  • As the purchase was made using HP, your friend has in effect purchased the fridge from the company who the HP contract is with and not from Comet.

    The HP company would have paid Comet for the fridge and your friend is paying the money + interest back to them.

    As others have said the HP wasnt provided by comet but by another firm so yes he will have to pay.

    Agreed. And even if the money was owed to Comet, he would still owe the administrators.

    And, in addition to all the great responses so far... has he even bothered reading the T&Cs of his finance agreement? I bet they're perfectly clear on what happens if the company he bought from goes under.
