Will you be using a landline/payphone or a mobile to call the UK?...and then the window licker said to me...0

Can you do a Google search such as telephone moins cher?
Some of the results look like phonecards or similar.

looks interesting, but there must be plenty of choice
it says €15 for 1666 minutes from 0811 number or 400 from 0800 number0 -
hi i'll be using a land line to call english land lines.0

What is the price of those 0811 calls? I assume it's a bit like 0844 here, though maybe only one rate.0

The first result on Google leads to a site with a call comparison checker that does not seem to work at the moment, but it has a list of providers.

I haven't looked at all of them, but Price Telecom says €0.045 and Primus seems to have a connection charge of 10c then 1c per minute.

Here's another that works without an account for the price of an 0811 local rate call (which is 1.4c off-peak and 2.8c peak = 1p, 2p)
http://www.telerabais.com/tarifs.php
So it looks like one or both of these last two, if you can use an ordinary landline ok. If you have to use a call box, then an account with an 0800 number and PIN access.0 -
now we're getting somewhere; this is a sister site to 18866 and 1899, so you could set up an account to use their 1690 prefix
http://www.telesoldes.com/index2.php
I wouldn't rush though; unfortunately their call rate is 3c to UK, 2c to France, at the moment where many others are 1c, but this could change
and be careful if you're in a shared flat about the others using it, as it relies only on recognising your number, not an entered pin number (if the same as 1899)0 -
If you can use PC to make phonecalls, you can use call1899 or voipbuster to make free phonecalls to the UK landlines.0
