Laurel Hedge leaves turning yellow!!

Hi, about 2 weeks ago I planted a load of Cherry Laurels in my back garden, I made sure they were well watered in and durind this dry spell they have been watered each night. The leaves have started to go yellow on one of them, then a couple and now half of them seem to have yellow leaves.

They were a tad pricey so I dont want them to die off!! Any suggestions?

Any sign of pests? Or are the leaves going crispy?

they seem to look as though they're new leaves, but are not. I dont think there are any pests.

I'm passing this info on second hand because I work away during the week and my missus has been keeping me posted on the distressing hedge news

Many plants suffer a thing called transit shock, and often the first sign of it is to lose some leaves, exactly as you describe. Keep watering your new laurel hedge generously and give it time. They are normally tough as old boots and I have no doubt that the plants will soon be sending out new leaves.

I agree with paddys mum - laurels do tend to sulk a bit if they are moved around from place to place. Hopefully this is what is happening to yours and they will recover but it takes a few weeks so don't panic yet!
