New Combi Boiler
Options
Need to get a new combo boiler as our one is old, struggling to produce hot water and sounds like there is a fox in it.
I will not even bother getting a quote from British Gas as I know they quote double the price of pretty much anyone else and hope that vulnerable and elderly people 'trust the name' and fall for it.
I would also prefer to use a local firm, any ideas on how much a simple replacement boiler and installation should cost? Roughly?

i would say a boiler would cost between £400-£500 for say a worcester 24i/28i junior which are very efficient boilers. if you contact a local tradesmen i imagine it should only be a days work 2 tops so if they charged £150-£200 a day that would £400 max but i imagine £150 should be a reasonable cost for their day rate.0

Its impossible to say as the regs have changed so much. Boiler will be £400-£1,000 depending on spec required and brand.
In some cases a simple straight swap from an old boiler to a combi may not be possible. Location, flue regs, gas pipe regs, drainage point for condensate can all affect where a combi can go, having to choose a completely new location ( potentially a long way from the present location) is not unheard of, so first thing is a survey.0 -
