Hi, just bought new bathroom mirror and we damaged it unpacking it in house. Bought with M&S MasterCard, cost £250, has anyone tried to claim via purchase protection? Grateful for any guidance.

Are you sure that they provide purchase protection? I don't see anything like this on their website.0

Agree with Grumbler here.
Noting on their website or in the T/C on purchase protection.

This rang a bell with me so I went and hunted out the paperwork related to my M & S card. I can confirm that Purchase Protection is indeed included and I have a copy of the original document which states 'Purchase Protection Insurance is being made available free of charge and will provide cover in respect of eligible purchases made on your &MORE credit card.' I also have a letter dated August 2011 advising me that the cover was being transferred from Hamilton Insurance to Aviva.
The insurance document states that purchases are covered against theft, fire damage or accidental damage for up to 60 days from date of purchase, though there are some exclusions such as 'any item covered by another insurance policy' and 'any item purchased on the internet' so you'd have to read the document carefully.
I have to confess I never paid much attention to the original insurance document which came when I took out the card, it was only when I received the 2011 letter about the change of insurer that I read it more thoroughly.0 -
Barclaycard World Mastercard (ex-egg) also comes with some sort of insurance cover; but this sort of thing is an extra and not part of a normal credit card cover, so not many cards offer it, and if they do, each will be on different terms. You'll have to look at your own issuer's terms to see if they offer anything.
Does your house insurance have accidental cover? We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/credit-card-tips doesn't mention M&S cards as offering any extra protection, so you're probably out of luck.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
