Paypal confirmed address

Hi,
I've sold a relatively low value item and the buyer paid promptly, she's since contacted me asking me to send to a different address than her confirmed paypal address.

I explained I couldn't do that, she's since messaged me back with the address again stating that her confirmed paypal address is her old address and she's now changed it on paypal

What do I do? As the paypal address showing on mine is still the first one which she does not want it to be sent to

  • For me it depends how you are posting. If you where going to post as standard mail with proof of postage then you don't have paypal cover anyway so for me I'd be likely to post to the address advised by the customer as that seems more sensible. If you where going to send it tracked then you need the paypal address to update to the new address or your not covered under paypal protection.
if i had known then what i know now
  • Tell her you will refund her payment, and then send her another paypal invoice after the refund, then hopefully when she pays you again, the new paypal email will have her revised address on it.

I'm the same, I'm not going to make a fuss over a £10 item, but a tracked one at £50 I would expect to have to refund the buyer and get them to add the new address and repay.

For me it is all about risk, and what I am prepared to accept and I know my business model won't suit everyone.

  • Thanks guys I've decided to risk it as it is quite a low value item so we'll see what happens
