Would a manual rotary grater handle carrots? I use one all the time for cheese as i find traditional graters really tiring.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zyliss-Rotary-Cheese-Grater-Coarse/dp/B0026Q67WG/ref=sr_1_3?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1360519365&sr=1-3 this sort of thing, you can get them much cheaper but this is the first one i saw ;)

I tried grating some carrots in one of the zyliss cheese graters a couple of weeks ago ... it didn't work for me ...i ended up breaking the handle on the grater :(

    Thank you.

I did come across that machine and wondered if anyone else had used one. It seems to have good reviews in your link.

I have some Tesco vouchers I can use and also some Amazon credit so hopefully wouldn't have to shell out too much cash if any.

I have one of these and must admit I think it is worth every penny ( mine was a pressie!!!!). It grates and slices brilliantly , made a coleslaw for 40 people yesterday in less than 10 minutes.

    Hope that helps.
