Question 1, Boiler Flue dripping.

Hi,

My boiler flue keeps dripping water, the amount depends on the temp outside. If its cold it drips about once every 2 second, when it's less cold then it drips every 10 secs or so.

It's irritating.

Is it a problem and something I can fix?

    They do this.

    It is condensation.

Ignore it or fit a small downpipe and catchpot below the flue.

  • Thanks, if it's not a problem then I'll leave it. I was worried it might be like water in the car exhaust.

    Make & model of boiler?
  • It shouldn't really be dripping.

The flue should rise from the boiler at a 3 degrees angle so that the condensation can run back into the boiler and out through the drain.

If it is dripping then it is likely that the flue is sitting straight through the wall.

Over time a nice green patch will develop where the flue is dripping

We don't know yet if the OP's boiler is a steamer. Perhaps he/she will answer Post 4.;)

More info needed, make model of boiler etc, and maybe where the flue is dripping from, inside or out?
Dependant on boiler type determines the way the flue works and should slope?

The make is Biasi, the model I have no idea.

It runs through a wall and far out the other side to avoid the guttering.

The dripping comes from the tip.
  • Ok, how can I stop it? It is leaving a green spot on my decking below now.

If you can't be bothered to check the model number, how do you expect to get meaningful help?
Is it a condensing boiler? If so, are you sure you are talking about the flue, or the condensate drain (which is supposed to drip, but should discharge to a gully or soakaway, not onto your decking).

'Bothered', who said anything about bothered?! I have no idea where it is!

If you can't be bothered to tell me where to look or can't be bothered to be polite then don't reply!
