wmp 10 codec help needed urgent

trying to play a dvd i just bought (yes it is genuine! i got it from hmv)..this is the first time ive ever played anything with .vob files and it wont play. ive downloaded every codec i can find for it inc k-lite, and now i just have audio, no video, and the icons dont show up as named, just file 1.vob etc...please someone give me the name of the codec im likely to need, im not going to download a different player just to play 1 dvd!

I have the same problem with WMP10 for certain mp3 files, which suprised me,:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Did you try using windows classic media player that came with the pack? Also, did you reboot after installing the codec pack?

Its not a codec you need at all to view a vob file, it’s a standard DVD player for a PC.
Try downloading this …..should do the trick

ok i reinstalled klite full. the file names still arent named and i only get partial video and horrendous audio in media classic ..im going to try powerdvd..i want the file names to show up properly!!Fr. You are using a DVD drive on your PC, not a CD drive, I presume?
Does the DVD drive have autoplay enabled?
What happens when you right-click a .vob file and choose Open with... and select VLC player?
Your comment and file names confuses me. A DVD contains a collection of files names as 1.vob, 2.vob etc. What are you expecting when you say "and the icons dont show up as named, just file 1.vob etc"?0
