Hello,
Just need a little advice that i have read part of the student finance form correctly. I should say that i am the mum of the student applicant! Assuming not everyone is familiar with the PN1 form, i will explain what i mean. On page 24 section 11 ( for those who have a form or seen one) there is a heading 'Financial details for the tax year 2006-07 for person(s) named in section 10'. Namely me & my husband. b10 asks for 'income from benefits'. i am currently recieveing IB. It says only include money received from certain benefits, of which IB is one. Hope you are still with me! In a bullet point next to Incapacity Benefit, it says 'Only include amount recieved after 28 wks of incapacity'. This is where i need reassuring advice please. i calculated the weeks from my first IB claim to 28 wks & found that the date was 26th april 07. Therefore i am assuming that i do not need to declare any IB on the form as my 28wk was after the end of the 06-07 tax year of april 5th. Does anyone come to the same conclusion or am i reading it differently? My husband sort of agrees & then gives a blank stare! I dont want to do anything wrong as its very important. Be grateful for any replies.

My mum is on IB benefit and it completely confused us (last year Im almost certain it didnt ask you to declare that). But we rang our local authority and spoke to them about it. They asked a few questions and were able to help us work out what we needed to put down.
Best of luckGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
my husband is on ib and had the same trouble with form for daughters,if u have been on over 28 weeks you put full amount u have had,ie 52 weeks from april 06/ april 07,i thought they just meant 24 weeks to put on form(as over 28 wks)got it sorted out,you wont need to put yours as its not 28 weeks in last tax year0

well i rang my LEA & waffled to some poor girl. i finally got her to understand. She said erm no you dont need to put it down. Then she asked me my dates again & said well i would send some evidence of the IB, so it shows you are getting some payment. ??? I think i mabe waffled too long & bamboozled the poor thing. Anyway think i may just do that just to be on the safe side. Its very confusing. Things were so much easier when i was working last year! Thanx for the replies.0

I am just filling in the PN1 form too. We are on Tax Credits as well as Ib and lower rate DLA. I was wondering do I send in my tax credit notice for 2006-2007 as proof of earnings? Or should I wait til I have filled iin and received the tax credit notification for this latest year?0
