I have always used chocolate in my chilli.Turkey gravy is particularly good apparently with a couple of squares of chocolate thrown in,although I cant say myself,I don't eat meat.
All I can say is that when I dish something up and I havent remembered to put it in or ran out, someone always notices and comments.
I always use 85% and keep it for savoury cooking only,it doesnt taste chocolatey when added it just adds smoothness and a piquant flavour to the dish.

Never used chocolate in chilli before but once followed a tip from one of the telly chef books to put some strong filter coffee in my chilli. It was vile! Whole dish was inedible and I never made anything from that book again!

I put some G&B drinking chocolate powder into a chilli and it was really nice. Added some sweetness to the tomatoes and just gave a hint of dark choc flavour.
