What a shame fete rained off. DH and I trying to limit the wine to Fridays but by 3pm on a Saturday we weaken and have to buy more! It's only £3.15 a bottle from Ald* but adds up over the month. Is yours all homebrew?

It was all home brew but a batch went off and we had to buy some. Home brew will be stocked up next weekend though.

Fete is going ahead in the pouring rain!

Yikes, I hate rain. It's a long term joke with my bm as we often get caught out in it on days out.

  • How did you find the time to make all those goodies for the flower show? So impressed. You are truly Wonder Woman.

As for avoiding unavoidable spending. So much is unavoidable when you have children and want them to be able to make the most out of opportunities. Time to be really tight when they are self supporting.

    Enjoy the wet fete,

It was (mostly) the kids own work.

DS won third for his picture, DD2 won third for her bird model and DD1 won second for her bookmark.

Puppylove came third in best gundog and best trick and first in "Dog most like its owner"with the DDs.

I am off out shortly to pick up a free sofabed.

£30 spent between us but it is for the Church.

Woop! Won a £50 Mr S voucher in the draw.

Really will be baby steps today. Woke up with a killer bad back.

DH back at work. Wonder if the (very real) pain is psychosomatic?

So far I have put on DW and WM and set up the CD player which was passed on to us by the rents.

    Next step, pay some bills.
