Yes, they will be dandelion seeds at this time of year
I hate dandelions with a passion, and have been known to sneak into my neighbour's gardens and snap the heads off before they seed:o

Yes I have also been plagued with these for the last week.
One blew into my sisters eye and she had to go to the optitions.
They told her that it had scratched her eye but nothing was left in it.
Her eye is now painful and bloodshot because of these 'fairies'.

I don't know about washing and dandelion seeds, but I once re-varnished our West and prevailing wind facing front door on the same day these decided to do their thing!

We call them clocks (dandelion clocks) We had contests as kids to see how many puffs it took you to blow them all off. Bet we were popular with the neighbours!

    HI
I thought that you had actually seen the washing fairies that most children believe pick up their washing, wash it and put it away again!!

It's not dandelions. It stuff coming out of 'my' trees. They are a willow of some kind and release the fluff for weeks on end and I HATE THEM!!
I have not been able to open my windows during this heatwave we've had, let alone sit in my garden. I was trying to garden and in gusts of wind had to hold my breath lest I inhaled them. My washing has been kept indoors.

The willow looks nothing like a willow should, it's ugly, with grey leaves, grows like there's no tomorrow and the two trees just outside my garden shade my garden completely.

Oh and now that it's offspring is sprouting all over any patch of soil or moist patio, the trees are proceeding with phase two - losing the catkins, which now cover my beautiful vegetable patch, breaking their fall with my delicate baby plants.

I really do hate those trees.
