VW climate control reset?
I have MK5 Golf petrol since new, recently I had the thermostat replaced as the temperature gauge was not reaching normal (90c) the gauge now reaches normal but after around 20 mins.
However I suspect the CC requires a reset?
I'm sure in the past that I would drive a couple of miles and the fans etc were off and the temp gauge would rise and then it would burst into life pumping out plenty of heat into the cabin (set to 21c) .
Now the fans seem to come on very soon (speed 4) and the cabin temp rises slowly then the fans reduce to (speed 2) .
Is there a diagnostic mode setting on the CC as I understand CC faults may not appear on the usual OBD tool.

It takes about 12mins before the temp gauge starts to move, I know it's winter but I'm positive it was never this slow even parked outdoors overnight.

My MK6 golf was the same (Petrol 1.4). I usually got to my destination 15 min journey before any heat started coming through. I don't think there was anything wrong with it, just the TSI engine is so darned efficient it does not produce much waste heat to charge up the cooling/heating system. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Just asked my sister in law (has a 2000 A3 with CC) she informs the heat is gushing through within 2 streets, I'm wondering if there are two cooling ccts , one for the engine and one for the CC.0 -
The cc doesn't reset and their is only one coolant circuit. I would suspect the most likely cause is either a faulty new thermostat or an airlock in the coolant circuit.0

Faulty new stat gets my vote, even though the dash is reading 90 you need vagcom/vcds or the torque android app (also a bluetooth dongle) to read the actual temperature that is being read.0

The thermostat and another part were replaced, before that the temp guage never read 90c even after a 40 mile motorway run
these were the parts replaced.0 -
Right then I have tried to bleed the system again TBH I think that is ok, the system does get warm but just not as quickly as years ago
The bottom hose does not get warm, but the radiator fins are hot, the fans never came on even after 30 mins, the matrix hoses do get hot and heat flows, just the time to get to temp, is it worth me checking the specific gravity of the coolant mix? Perhaps it's 30/70 when 50/50 would do.0
