Had no calls for a few days now and all creditors should have the offers by now and first payment goes in just under a fortnight

Hi Kate, great news, & how are you feeling now, op a success or too early to say?
Remembering that the SC payment from you to creditors won't be sent until the 25th of the month so you might need another token payment depending on dates ?
Glad the calls died down - aced it with Tesco :TDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Thanks Sazzie, I'm getting a little better each day. My op is this Friday and can't come soon enough, I was playing "hunt the body part that doesn't ache" yesterday and cut my work day short in favour of painkillers and the sofa (thankfully I have an understanding boss!) Last week's hospital over-nighter started as a week of stomach cramps and ended up being a kidney infection. I'm not 100% and still not eating much but that'll help the nil by mouth from midnight tomorrow
I have told all creditors exactly when I pay SC and when they'll be paid, whether they stay quiet is anyone's guess but I wouldn't want to be them if they call next week - my mum will be popping in daily to look after me (she works mornings and will be here each afternoon) and I doubt she'll let them speak to me!

Long time lurker here,
I am feeling really frightened at the moment, I have had to reduce my DMP payment by £100 to £251 because I have (hopefully) temporarily reduced my hours due mental health issues caused by mostly past issues and partly because of the stress being in debt.
I have been on a DMP for a couple of years, I haven't missed a payment and have paid more than half. I am frightened about what my creditors will say
Hi Joee,
I'm about to be in a similar (yet smaller) boat as you
I've been paying £500 pcm for almost a year now but have been on long term sick leave with back problems since the end of last year... From the end of this month I'll be around £400 pcm less which is obviously going to impact on my DMP and I reckon that while I can make some savings in some places (work lunches and travel for example) I'm probably going to only be able to pay about half or even less my normal payments...
That said, I have faith in SC to help me through and at the end of the day my creditors can't have what I can't give (if I could, I would)
It'll all be ok so long as you don't panic and do anything silly (like over commit to your DMP) and continue to pot on this forum for this lovely lot to boost your spirits

Hi
Just giving you another update ... The saga continues!
Got a letter from GE saying taking no further action- we rang to check exactly what this meant, they confirmed not taking legal action as long as we continue with DMP and they are only charging a minimum amount of interest , I asked for this in writing, and today received a statement! The statement said they had charged £44 pm interest , whilst we were paying £32.30 DMP! Yes, we are paying more in interest than our monthly payment so our debt is going up! We rang them and they said interest would be frozen from 1 st April (statements are one month in Arrears), it appears the whole loan was front loaded with interest so that although we had been paying for 4 years, it had mostly been interest! What a fool have we been! We took this loan out through british gas for a new boiler - if we had taken a personal loan it would have been well paid off by now!
Glad they have now frozen interest, but what idiots we have been not to have read small print 4 years ago when we took out the loan!
Glad we contacted FOS because as least we can begin to make progress on the debt now!
Further update...... Letter from FOS today saying GE have agreed to refund interest charged since we started the DMP, woohoo! As we owe them more now than we did when we started the DMP you can understand how relieved we are! So glad I went to FOS as we had contacted GE numerous times before! :T:T:T0 -
