Thanks for the prompt reply. No they are not charging interest, and I did find the extra £10 for a while but they then informed my dmp who were not happy, and said if we continue they would cancel a plan. So I decided to write to NW and that's what they have comeback with. I will perhaps complain to FSA and see where that get's me. But the other half of me just feels like you know what NW bring it onThanks again
Sometimes you just can't win  and all over £10 measley quid that you are planning to pay back :mad:
Is a bit of a theme developing on this thread with NW, I wonder if they have always been like this or have just changed policy?
Kate - don't worry about exact balances, I had to update mine over 3 months (or even more I think), as long as they get the account numbers right it should be OK. Only thing is that the payments allocation are affected by the balances, so if you can keep in the right ballpark the figures'll add up easily.

Sorry for jumping on your reply TTFTM, but I'm sure I've seen something on the DFW forum (I think Fermi posted it up?) which provided a link to a website about this very issue. Again, I'm sure I read that there is a certain regulation about having to default debtors after 6 months of lower than contractual repayments. But don't quote me. I'm having this issue with Hfx and am giving them the next two months to default me, they've only applied three DM markers to my account so far even though I've been in the DMP since June 2013, otherwise I'm taking my complaint back to the FOS!
Thanks. Will look into it. I think I saw a thread about Barclaycard changing AR to default yesterday. There was a template letter. Somewhere.
I have to say though, I find it next to impossible to contact my creditors, I was hassled so much by them, (MBNA in particular) just before I started the DMP that it makes be hyperventilate a bit even to think about it. I just used to send everything I get from them to PayPlan. Now all I get are statements.Light Bulb Moment: Feb 2007

1st Default notification this morning !!
:T
Thanks very much Mr Tesco, only 7 more needed.
Who would have thought you would ever celebrate a default but it's great isn't it
The only annoying thing is they have accepted £1 as my payment plan for 6 months and will review again. Shame SC are paying them a lot more than thatstill better to get it coming down.

Good start BB
One of my MBNA accounts vanished off the website again - I tried it for a couple of days and then called them. Apparently its been passed to 'collections' (in house) and has a new ref number, but I still keep paying SC according to the nice MBNA lady, however if it gets sold on then they will get in touch. If I want to check the balance, I just have to call them ...seems Ok to me.
She did say if I get a lump some and wanted to negotiate an F&F then they'd be up for it, no chance at the moment for meDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Doh! I know there will always be teething problems....My DMP started in March, bakc in January I had a letter from StepChange wrongly confirming it would start in February so I went back to them to say this wrong as I had always intended a March start date. StepChange said they would write out again to state the start date would be delayed by a month - I wasnt too happy with that, it was almost like they wouldnt admit their error and to me there is a difference between saying they gave the wrong start date as opposed to the start has been delayed.
Anyway they told me they had written to all providers. Fine, first payment no probs, second payment taken this month not yet hit the accounts, but I got a letter from Halifax more charges and stating I had broken the agreement by not making a payment in February!
I have written back to halifax to explain the situ and can they take those charges off, I also went back to StepChange to ask did they inform Halifax that the Feb start date was wrong. Anyway the reply back from StepChange just states they will resend SOA etc to halifax with the proposal to pay - I dont know why they cannot just say they gave the wrong dtae initially, it was always the intention to start in March and I have not broken the agreement!
I am loathe to have a go at StepChange but I do feel they have made me look the one in the wrong on all this. I just hope things get back on track with Halifax.I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.0 -

Hi, I had a similar incident with Halifax and start dates, they rang in October saying I had missed a payment even though my start up date was November and I had written to all my creditors every month stating Nov, and paying my token amount. Halifax told me sc had written October start up, sc said Halifax were incorrect. Either way, all sorted and they were the first to sell my debt to a dca and default me, so all ended well. Hope it does for you as well.
