Hi,and thanks your replies, I have another question if that's OK?I am currently in the process of switching bank accounts,I have cancelled a couple of direct debits to my creditors already. My worry is that I always use my overdraft facility on my old account, I am worried they will get wind of what I am doing and cancel this overdraft facility, if I don't manage to get my wage changed to the new bank account in time, this means most of my living expenses for next month will be lost.Is it likely they will pick up on my activities re cancelling DDs? I have not cancelled any to those related to the bank I bank with, hope this makes sense thank you Mark

    Hi Mark,

I did this as well and they didn't pick up on anything until I wanted them to know... It would probably be advisable mind to withdraw your wages if they do get paid into the old account and transfer them to your new account leaving enough to cover any dd's relating to your old bank. My old bank was Natwest by the way.

I couldn't comment on there behaviour with regards to current accounts but I had no issues with them with my cc. They sold it to a dca within 3 months, defaulted me and never charged me interest... others however, have different stories to tell....!!

HI Markob66 - my signature says it all for me. although after 17 months i could finally be at the point of default with them and hopefully now interest has frozen... wont lie its been a nightmare, all i could say is if when setting up they dont freeze get a formal complaint letter. if they still dont freeze get it over to FOS within 6 months of complaint and they will do what they can.

    But forewarned is forearmed. :rotfl:

Blow me down with a feather, letter from Barclaycard, frozen account for 30 days, suspended fees and interest for those 30 days, they have set a date when if they don't hear from me or SC with payment details they will assume I don't need it and interest & fees will be reinstated. I laughed at that clause. Anyway no phone calls, will send a letter with another token before the date even though SC have written too. But it all seems to be going too well at the moment. I've psyched myself up for some nasty phone calls and they all seem to just be agreeing with my plans. :D

    Hi All.

Does anyone have experience with the annual review with PayPlan. We're coming up to ours in April and curious as to what is likely to happen.

We're looking to plan a new budget this weekend but just wondering how the process side of it goes.

I had a DMP with Payplan for 90 months and did 7 annual reviews (one per year).

They will email you when its time for the review.

You then log into your account, complete the budgetter and a revised payment figure will show, you then can agree to that figure (or not).

You dont have to be 100% with the revised figures, but neither would I recommend lying blatantly.

I never had any problems and am now debt free.

I would recommend Payplan to anyone whi has debt problems.

Wow, that's even easier than I was expecting. Thanks for letting me know and also congrats on the debt free-ness, I bet it feels rather splendid.
  • I love this thread. I'm having a bit of a wobble at the moment and need a bit of hand-holding. I've started my DMP but so far it looks like all my creditors are accepting the payments as part payments but still charging the £12 default charges for less than minimum amounts being received. I there any way I can challenge this? I'm only into my second month on my DMP so should I let it takes it course for a bit longer and let PayPlan do their negotiations with them or should I write to them personally and try and nip these charges in the bud? I hate seeing the balances go up rather than down, particularly on debts, which up until I began my DMP, I had not defaulted on at all but had to be included.
